Well, That Certainly Sucks

After many years of service, my laptop experienced the black screen of death/white cursor yesterday. I spent the next eight to nine hours trying to fix it to no avail. While I’m still tinkering with it here and there, it seems quite likely the computer is KIA. So, all that progress I’ve finally been making on the novella? Gone. Along with half of another project I apparently forgot to finish backing up a year or two ago.

The only bright spot of news I’ve got going for me is that Crystal Lake requested the full manuscript for Wind Chill, which I very gratefully did have backed up. I should hear back one way or another by the end of the week, so keep your fingers crossed for me. I could use a little luck.

About prutigli

Patrick Rutigliano grew up on a steady diet of comic books and horror movies. Making his first sale to Permuted press in 2007, he has since placed stories with several publications in addition to his first collection, Black Corners of a Blood-Red Room. The Untimely Deaths of Daryl Handy is his first independent release. During his off time, Patrick can usually be found attempting to recreate foreign cuisine, sacrificing cardboard to his cats, and having spirited debates with his wife over the failings of Disney villains.
